I was browsing Instagram the other night when a sponsored post caught my eye: $65 for a logo. Woah, I thought. That’s cheap. But that wasn’t all that caught my eye.

AI logos (& no, not Adobe Illustrator!)

The sponsored post bragged that artificial intelligence can make a logo you’ll be proud of. Let me repeat that: the logo is made using artificial intelligence. A computer! Now that grabbed my attention.

With artificial intelligence, computers can do some pretty crazy stuff, but design a logo? I of course had to check out what this AI Logo Maker was capable of. And boy oh boy, it did not disappoint! /sarcasm

How does it work?

All you have to do is give the software a few pieces of input and a logo comes out the other end (butt pun?). Input your company name and slogan, pick basic colors and a handful of logos you like, and …*taa-daa!* the program spits out a logo! But not one logo, infinite logos. So many logos to choose from.

Apparently you only have to pay when you find a logo you like. You could browse for days without paying.

Bring it on, Machine!

We decided it would be fun to have a little contest. So we pitted the AI Logo Maker against our very own, human logo makers in an ultimate showdown of “who can design a better logo?!”

We took the input that our clients gave us, plugged it into the trusty AI algorithm, and picked the best logo that the AI Logo Maker spit up.

We’ll let you be the judge…

The moral of this story? You get what you pay for. If you want a brand identity that will make a splash, hire someone you can trust.

But, do give LogoJoy a try. It’s free to try and fun to mess around with.
